Why will you see Rivea here?
Right up front, no beating around the bush: Rivea Beauty is my family's business. I'll mention Rivea on this site from time to time. But I do it by saying so plainly — not by slipping into a "neutral publisher" costume and running hidden ads.
Why did it come to exist?
We struggled to find products at the standard I was after: away from speed, clear in their contents, honestly made, more useful than showy. When we couldn't find them, we started making our own. That's how Rivea was born — out of a need, not a marketing plan.
But this isn't Rivea's storefront
This matters, so I'll underline it. On this site I won't tell you to "buy Rivea." Instead I'll explain a criterion: why you should know what's inside a soap or a care product, and what industrial speed does to those products. If you adopt that criterion, choose Rivea — or choose another brand that meets the same standards.
I've set myself a rule: the vast majority of the content here will have nothing to do with Rivea — philosophy, books, practices, and other ethical, slow-making brands. Rivea is just one name in that respectable crowd. If I can put my own brand at the same table as my competitors, judged by the same measures, then I actually believe what I'm saying.
The visitor should adopt the criterion behind the product, not the product. The rest is their own choice.
If you'd like to see Rivea, the shop lives elsewhere: riveabeauty.com. Here is where we think, not where we sell.
